Wellek, R. M. - Presenter, The National Science Foundation

Each year NSF conducts two Workshop Sessions at the Annual AIChE Meeting in order to provide useful information regarding the Foundation and its programs. Session 1 is focused on presentations relating to the NSF programs in the Division of Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental and Transport Systems (CBET). Session II includes a tutorial on proposal writing and round table discussions with individual program directors. Both sessions are extremely valuable in helping faculty write competitive proposals for funding. The NSF workshop sessions offer an opportunity for new faculty to learn about NSF, its programs and new initiatives in research and education.  There is significant opportunity for faculty to interact with NSF program directors. NSF also sponsors an information suite during the AIChE meeting. The NSF Information Suite is typically open for the first three days of the meeting and provides an  excellent opportunity for one-on-one discussions with NSF Program Officers. Faculty are invited to participate in the Workshop Sessions and visit the Information Suite. Feedback from the Workshop Sessions will help NSF improve its programming for subsequent meetings.
