PvT properties in the compressed liquid phase were determined for n-heptane + n-decane mixtures at pressures up to 25 MPa in the temperature range of 313 - 363 K. These were performed at 5 compositions to cover the entire range. A vibrating tube densitometer (VTD) was used to carry out experimental measurements. The classical calibration method was used for calibrating the VTD. Water and nitrogen were used as reference fluids. Data were obtained with an automatic data acquisition program. The experimental methodology was tested by measuring the densities for heptane and decane in the same range of temperature and pressure. These were compared with Equations proposed in the literature. Deviations were found to be less than 0.05%. A five-parameter Equation was used to correlate the experimental densities for the n-heptane + n-decane system. Comparison between the calculated and the experimental results were estimated within ±0.2 kg/m3.
