Co-chair(s)

Murthy, S. K., Northeastern University

This session focuses on the critical understanding and control of disease processes from a bioengineering perspective. Disease mechanisms include genetic or metabolic disorders, viral and bacterial infection, as well as trauma. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: mathematical modeling of disease onset or progression, novel strategies of controlling metabolic or genetic disorders (drug delivery, gene therapy), stem cell-derived models of human disease, and tissue engineered models of disease.
