Plenary on Corporate Social Responsibility

Drawing from a range of best practices, Karl Haider, Innovation Manager, New Technology Group, with Bayer MaterialScience LLC, will explain how the materials science leader aligns corporate social responsibility with sustainability to create innovative solutions to address global challenges that impact the quality of life.
Participants will learn about Bayer MaterialScience's R&D focus in the following areas:
Nanotechnology and its role in sustainable energy development, particularly the company's research to improve the efficiency of windmill technology; Buildings and construction solutions, including the ?Cool Roof? concept that dramatically reduces energy consumption;
Alternative energy vehicle developments, specifically technologies designed to reduce the weight of vehicles to improve fuel efficiency, as well as environmentally friendly auto glazing and coatings solutions.
In addition, Haider will explain how the company is leveraging opportunities with the government, universities and start-ups to drive innovation, and ultimately, commercialization.
