Modeling of Composites

Co-chair(s)

Heinz, H., University of Akron

This session invites contributions dealing with modeling and theory of composites, emphasizing structure-property relationships, mechanics, and processing. Structure-property relationships include, for example, inorganic-organic interfaces, responses to electric and magnetic fields, biological recognition, self-healing properties, charge transport, and heat transport. Mechanics and processing is focused on nano-mechanics, bio-mechanics, crazing, fracture, and rheology. Joint computational-experimental efforts as well as advances in modeling and simulation tools (such as Monte Carlo, molecular dynamics, finite elements, flow equations, multiscale) are highly welcome.
