The effect of the preparation method in the distribution profiles obtained for Pd and PdO/ãAl2O3 supported catalysts were studied for the isopropyl alcohol (IPA) partial oxidation. In the catalyst preparation two times of impregnation (1 and 5 hours) and supports wet or dry, were used. The final step of catalyst activation was achieved by calcinations and reduction with air and NaBH4, respectively. These catalysts were tested in a packed bed reactor varying W /FAo between 8 and 15 g/mol/h, at atmospheric pressure and 180 C , with a reason 2:1 (IPA/O2). The catalysts characterization was made by XRD, BET, SEM and EDX, before and after the reactors test. The products of the reactions were determinate by gas chromatography. Two kind of the distribution profile was obtained (uniform and shell egg) and the higher conversion for isopropyl alcohol was obteind when uniform profile was used. The previous state of the support is an important variable in the quantity of the active specie deposited when equal time of impregnation were used
