The reproducibility of OSA mobility in templated gels improves the ability to separate molecules that are otherwise inseparable. Templated gel structures are polymer hydrogels which have a composite structure and provide distinct transport properties. Our goal is to characterize templated hydrogels in terms of differences in porosity and pore size distribution. The gels discussed here include those made with polyacrylamide and mixed with PNIPAM thermosensitive microparticles and/or carbon nanotubes. In comparing the reproducibility of electrophoretic mobilities of OSA in polyacrylamide gels, the OSA was found to travel uniformly. Reproducibility was characterized as +20% for axial dispersion and +1% for mobility.
