The combination of chemical engineering and molecular biology provides a core of fundamental principles that can be used to address environmental problems through biotechnology. Papers are sought that contribute to the continued development of that knowledge base. Examples of areas of interest are: Bioremediation, environmental monitoring and cleanup, development of novel biocatalysts and biological materials for the enhanced degradation of toxic pollutants or for environmentally-friendly chemical synthesis, novel biocatalysts or biomaterials for biosensor development.
