(638b) Self-Assembled Hybrid Nanoporous Opal Films And Membranes

Modification of self-assembled silica colloidal crystals (opals) with organic moieties capable of carrying positive or negative charges, capable of forming non-covalent complexes via hydrogen bonding and pi-pi stacking, and with polymers will be discussed. In addition, the preparation of surface-modified suspended and free-standing opal membranes will be described.
