2007 Annual Meeting
Food, Pharmaceutical & Bioengineering Division
In Honor of Ed Leonard on the Occasion of His 75th Birthday I
Tuesday, November 6, 2007 - 1:00pm to 1:20pm
Principles of reaction engineering and transport phenomena have long provided useful perspectives in the study of biological systems, spanning scales from molecules to cells, tissues and organs. However, their applications in the study of the smallest parasites --- viruses --- have been limited. This talk will explore recent advances at the interface between engineering and virology, emphasizing how chemical engineering perspectives help shed light on the dynamics of virus growth and spread.
