Bionanotechnology uses concepts from chemistry, physics, and molecular biology to identify components and processes for the construction of nanomaterials and nanodevices for health care. This session invites papers that focus on the design and development of nanomaterials and nanodevices for gene and drug delivery. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: novel methods and compositions to design gene and drug delivery systems at the nanoscale level, and the effects of the sizes of gene and drug delivery systems on gene and drug release kinetics, and pharmacokinetics, cellular uptake, biological transport, and bioefficacy of gene- and drug-carrier complexes.
