Following previous works [1], 1-ethyl-3-methyl imidazoluim chloride ([emim] chloride) was mixed with 1-butanol. There is a lack of PvT data of ionic liquids and its mixtures with other substances such as alkenes or alcohols.
Liquid densities of binary mixtures of [emim] chloride + 1-butanol was determined at temperatures from 313 to 363 K and pressures up to 25 MPa by means of a Vibrating Tube Densimeter with an uncertainty of ±0.2 kg/m3. Experimental data were correlated using the BWRS EoS[2] and two empirical equations [3,4], good representation of this set of data was observed.
