Poster session: Fundamentals and Applications of Adsorption and Ion Exchange
Tuesday, November 14, 2006 - 6:30pm to 9:00pm
Since amino acids are used to synthesize proteins, they play important roles in the function of the human body. In order to separate amino acids, a fixed bed packed with PVP (poly-4-vinylpyridine) resin has been used previously. In this work, a series of moment analyses are used to investigate the adsorption and mass-transfer behaviors of some amino acids in a fixed bed packed with PVP (poly-4-vinylpyridine) resin. The experimental results will also be compared with the results from detailed rate-model simulations.
