Many Chemical Engineering departments around the country are integrating biology topics into their undergraduate curriculum, and bio related topics have become a significant area of chemical engineering research. Some departments have gone as far as changing their name to reflect this integration, for example, Chemical and Biological Engineering. This integration may involve some growing pains as faculty attempt to integrate biological topics into the traditional chemical engineering curriculum. You are invited to submit papers that address one or more of the following: 1)ideas about what topics this new bio-ChE curriculum should include, 2)what "non-bio" faculty need to know to teach in a bio-integrated curriculum, or 3)offer specific examples of how your department is integrating bio into the curriculum.
