The development of new materials with high, yet selective, catalytic activity will be essential to future technological advances in diverse areas including the hydrogen economy, green chemistry, heterogeneous enantioselective catalysis, etc. This session will focus on works where rational material design at the nanoscale leads to unique and useful structure/reactivity. As such contributions to this session will be expected to have a heavy synthesis emphasis, coupled with analytical methodologies (which could include catalytic testing) that validate the synthesis paradigms.
