Sternberg, S. M. - Presenter, Baxter Healthcare Corporation

Membrane processes are an integral part of downstream separation and purification steps involved in production of Biopharmaceuticals. This was true when Biopharmaceuticals were (and are) plasma derived, or when they are made by recombinant technology. Continuous improvements to membrane properties and device design have been achieved over the years, and there is no reason to believe that the optimum has been reached. In this presentation an attempt is made to anticipate the next levels of improvement in this field.
