Does AIChE Have Your Birthdate on Record?

It has been noted that some South Texas Section – AIChE (STS – AIChE) Members do not provide their birthdates to AIChE.

This creates a problem for the STS – AIChE Nominating and Awards Committees as one (1) South Texas Section – AIChE Executive Committee Position1 has an age requirement as do three (3) STS – AIChE Awards2.  While AIChE does not and will not provide birthdates to the any of the Local Sections, the STS -- AIChE Nominating and Awards Committees can and have submitted lists of potential candidates and nominees to AIChE with questions such as these below:

  • “Have these persons attained the age of 35 before December 31 of this year?”
  • “Have these persons attained the age of 35 before December 31 of last year?”
  • “Have these persons attained the age of 40 before December 31 of this year?”

(Note: “Ringers” have been included in the lists as a method of quality control.)

If AIChE cannot answer any of the above or similar questions for a person, the STS – AIChE Nominating and Awards Committees have no choice but to drop the person(s) from any consideration as a potential candidate or Award nominee.

Please check your “AIChE Profile” and determine if all the information AIChE has for you is accurate. To access your member profile and make updates use this link:

access/edit your AIChE member profile

You will then have to login with your individual AIChE username and password and click “edit profile” under their profile photo to add their birthdates.  It is assumed that you have an AIChE username and password.  If it doesn’t work you may have to clear your Browser’s cache (or history).  If that doesn’t work, it is suggested that AIChE Customer Service be contacted at 1-800-242-4363 or via e-mail at CustomerService@aiche.org.  It should be noted that AIChE does not require birthdate information from any AIChE Member but will enter the information into its database.
