Mr. Connolley has over 38 years Process Safety experience. He is a Certified Safety Professional, experienced in the Management of Process Safety and Safety & Health Programs. He brings multi-site and multinational experience providing leadership and technical support in Process Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, and Site Security Programs. Mr. Connolley is skilled in a wide range of state-of-the-art Process Safety management, hazards assessment and testing techniques; he has led Process Safety assessments of new and existing production units, process computer control systems, pilot plants, laboratory facilities, and chemicals transportation. His expertise includes Process Hazard Analysis, Consequence Analysis (dispersion of toxic and flammable chemicals, fire and explosion effects, facility siting), and Quantitative Risk Assessment on chemical plant processes.
He was the technical authority for QRA and building siting in BP’s downstream businesses, accountable for overseeing, reviewing, and approving the siting analyses and site buildings plans and programs. He was a BP representative to the API Facility Siting Committee that developed the API Recommended Practices 752, 753 and 756, and currently serves on the API Facility Siting Revision Committee to update those documents. He also served as Vice-Chair of the CCPS Subcommittee for the book Guidelines for Siting and Layout of Facilities, 2nd Edition. He is a CCPS Fellow.
