Minority Affairs Community's Eminent Chemical Engineers Award

This is the Minority Affairs Community’s highest award and recognizes outstanding achievements from a professional in a traditional chemical engineering position or from a chemical engineer making significant contributions in a non-traditional profession.  Nominees must be professionals who identify as members of an underrepresented minority group (i.e., African-American, Hispanic, Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander).  Beyond professional achievement, the most successful nominees will have served as mentors and role models to underrepresented minorities in engineering and other related areas in education or business environment, have outstanding technical accomplishments and distinguished service to the profession, and be well-respected and recognized within the engineering communities and underrepresented minorities engineering/science organizations.

PresentationThe award is presented at the Annual Meeting during the MAC Awards Presentation at the Eminent Engineers Breakfast. In order to accept the award, the recipient is expected to attend this session and provide remarks, including a presentation based on her/his professional body of work, following the award presentation.
Nomination Instructions
This award is selected annually from nominations received by the MAC Awards Committee.  A complete nomination must be submitted by an AIChE member and include the following components:

 
1. One (1) nomination letter describing the nominee’s contributions to the profession and, as appropriate, how the nominee’s chemical engineering background has enabled the nominee to excel in a non-traditional profession
2. Nominee’s CV or resume
