Christoph Bayer

Christoph Bayer, PhD, is a professor of process systems engineering with Technische Hochschule Nürnberg, Germany. He holds mechanical and chemical engineering degrees (Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing.) from RWTH Aachen Univ., Germany. He was previously a senior engineer with BASF’s Conceptual Process Design Group. Later, he contributed as the team lead for the transformation of engineering and construction work processes. His main focus was on identifying methods that bridged the digital and the real world and boosting their popularity within the company. Bayer holds seven patents.Read more

Brent Young

Brent Young, PhD, holds a BE (1986) and PhD (1993) in chemical and process engineering from the Univ. of Canterbury, New Zealand. Young has experience as an academic and consulting engineer in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand in process control and design. He has been a Chair in the Dept. of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the Univ. of Auckland, New Zealand since 2011, where he has been the Director of the Industrial Information and Control Centre since 2007. Isuru A. Udugama, PhD, is a senior lecturer (associate professor) in the Dept. of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the Univ. of Auckland (UOA). He has a BE (Hons) and PhD (distillation control) in chemical engineering and a BCom (economics and finance) from UOA. He also works as a process control consultant with S&D Consulting, Inc.
