Solve difficult distillation problems

In three days, you’ll address essential distillation concepts you’re likely to face in process support, operations and design engineering. You’ll review successful strategies for solving thermodynamics, vapor liquid equilibrium,  and learn  about process design, column operation and simulation issues. You’ll discover how to specify and select the most appropriate distillation hardware. Plus, you’ll learn methods for predicting efficiency using some of today’s modeling techniques.

  • Explain basic distillation principles.

  • Evaluate simulation issues, process design considerations and column operations.

  • Describe a variety of distillation practice designs including general column design, tray column design, packed column design.

  • Appraise the correct internals to be used for  specific column design considerations including trayed and packed columns.

  • Apply problem-solving and troubleshooting methods for distillation problems to real world issues.

  • Discuss ways of estimating the efficiency of a system using the current modeling techniques.

  • Discuss the concepts of distillation thermodynamics and vapor-liquid equilibrium.
