(60i) Dynamic Modelling and Optimization of a Non-Equilibrium LNG Storage Tank

Heat ingress from atmosphere to LNG inside a tank causes continuous evaporation of LNG that leads to increase of pressure and temperature. Therefore, it is important to develop a numerical model in real time operation to estimate the dynamic behavior of the fluids inside the tank accurately. For this, we developed a new dynamic simulation model to estimate total amounts of boiled off gas (BOG), its composition and physical properties more accurately than conventional method. For case study, various operation conditions were applied to the model, and the results were analyzed.
