In this presentation, we will share trends in salary data from a national survey for teaching-focused faculty, TFF, (non-tenure track) in chemical engineering. Previous work showed that the yearly salary ranges from $80,000 - $200,000. Surprisingly, the salary does not correlate with either years of teaching experience (ranging from 0 to 20 years) or with school ranking. The survey was sent out to 270 TFF in Fall 2023. There were approximately 100 respondents that represent various types of schools (R1, R2, PUI, etc.), sizes and ranks of program. Faculty were asked about a variety of factors including age, previous industrial experience, number of promotions, length of contract, job acquisition and job responsibilities. In this presentation, we will show if any of these variables correlate with salary. This will shed light on faculty remuneration and inform discussions of equitable compensation practices.
