Unconscious Bias

Join our in person presentation and panel discussion on unconscious bias and why it matters in STEM and Engineering. This session will consist of an overview of research and its applicability in workplaces, academia, and communities with engineering data sets and demographic trends. We will also define key Diversity, Equity and Inclusion terms where you will learn and develop deeper understanding of the intersection of diversity, equity and inclusion. Additionally, we will define unconscious bias and how it impacts interactions in the workplace and academic environments. Lastly, we will learn techniques to avoid common pitfalls and strategies to lessen frequency.
