The Climate Solutions Policy Initiative (CSPI) is newly launched program to create content which will inform policymakers on technological climate change mitigation strategies. During the first part of the session, the Initiative will be introduced and outcomes from the pilot technology assessment on Light Duty Vehicle Electrification including policy implications will be presented by Sara Murphy, University of Michigan. There will be an open discussion for feedback on the program. During the second part of the session, a panel of diverse speakers will address informing policy initiatives related to climate change solutions, followed by an open forum discussion. The preliminary speakers include: Jennifer Wilcox - Principal Dep Asst Sec, DOE Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management Mary Ellen Ternes, Esq. - Partner at the Earth & Water Law, LLC), David Sholl - Dir, Transformational Decarbonization Initiative, Oak Ridge National Laboratory Chris Phalen - Policy Advisor, Office of Senator Sinema This is a tremendous opportunity for members of the AIChE community to discuss the future of climate change solutions and what role chemical engineers play.
