Angel Investing in Chemical Startups: Putting Your Experience to Work

Vreeke, M., Chemical Angels Network

Byers, W., Chemical Angel Network

Many experienced professionals find angel investing to be an enjoyable and rewarding activity. Angel investors invest their own money in start-up companies in exchange for an equity stake in the company. Their collective activities contribute to growth and innovation in the chemical industry. Their motivations include opportunities to collaborate with fellow investors and founders of startups, to put their hard-earned expertise to work in support of their industry, and to generate high average financial returns. Joining an angel investing group makes it easier to get started by helping to reduce the financial risks and learning time required to make good investment decisions. This session will discuss the motivations that drive angel investors and will also address the factors that angel investors consider when evaluating prospective investments. Prospective angel investors will be interested and entrepreneurs will also find it valuable to learn how angel investors make their investment decisions.
