Pharmaceutical development is a rich and unique opportunity for value through digitalization. The business processes in our industry are not typically optimized for the rapid and agile approach to innovation that aggressive digitalization requires. Successful digital projects have certain attributes that align them with business processes, but lag in terms of progress towards modernization. Key aspects of development and of the business processes end up manifesting challenges to meaningful change. In this presentation we will review key successes in our organization, key challenges, and potential solutions to executing a contemporary digital strategy in product development.
