(259b) Contributions in AI and Applications in Pharmaceutical Engineering

In this presentation Prof Venkatasubramanian's contributions to teaching and research in the area of AI and his extensive pioneering applications in material ontologies, knowledge management, product design and process operations will be reviewed. He has been well ahead not only of the the process systems engineering research community in advancing this methodology but also very perspicacious in recognizing the enormous potential this methodology could have in the pharmaceutical industry. That vision has only begun to be appreciated in the last few years.
