(163d) Synthesis and Deposition of Microscale Capsules

The interaction, deposition, and release of capsules from a surface is being used in our group to mimic the process in which red blood cells (RBCs) interact with a boundary. Further, this phenomenon is important for when soft and hard surfaces come in contact. This poster summarizes our work to fabricate liquid containing microscale capsules of systematically varied surface chemistry, size, and mechano-chemical response. Results from preliminary characterization and deposition experiments will be summarized.
