Supporting Faculty, Staff and Students – Helping Others Achieve Success

Chair(s)

Visco, D. Jr., The University of Akron

Co-chair(s)

Burkey, D. D., University of Connecticut

This session focuses on strategies and approaches that have been developed and implemented to support the success of faculty, staff and/or students (grad, ugrad and recruits). Examples of such programs would be “mentoring new faculty”, “TA training”, “strategies to handle large advising loads for faculty and staff”, “student-led mentoring of freshman”, “supporting the launch of new student groups and/or student led courses”, “creating idea incubator platforms for student entrepreneurship” and “actively promoting your students or colleagues through networking and awards nominations”. In short, we encourage submissions about support programs (whether an individual program or a combination of several programs) that are working, and you believe others may benefit from learning about such approaches.
