Biopolymers

Chair(s)

Jang, Y., University of Florida

Co-chair(s)

Tang, C., Virginia Commonwealth University
Letteri, R., University of Virginia

This session will focus on the synthesis and structure-property relationship of biopolymers made from biological/biomimetic building blocks (e.g., amino acids, nucleic acids, or peptoids), and/or synthesis from bio-based and bio-renewable sources. Biopolymers include fusion proteins conjugated with synthetic polymers or polypeptides. These polymers may be amorphous, semi-crystalline or supramolecular gels. Experimental results, simulations, and theoretical/modeling are equally welcome. ***Note to faculty candidates: please include a note to the session chair during submission to alert them to your status*** +++Note: this session will be sorted jointly with “Hydrogel Biomaterials” and “Development of Renewable or Recyclable Polymers and Intermediates.” Authors whose work falls under the scope of both sessions may submit to either.+++
