(361b) Improvements in Aqueous Two-Polymer Phase Extraction of Single-Wall Carbon Nanotubes Beyond the Small-Diameter Regime

Authors

Extending aqueous two-phase extraction methods for effective separation of single-wall carbon nanotubes outside the small-diameter regime is a challenging effort due to the increasing number of species and lesser mass fractions of each component in synthetic mixtures. In this talk I will detail the use of several new developments, including the use of co-surfactant mixtures, and the prior analytical determination of partition coefficients for particular (n,m) species, to advance separation efficiency in this regime. Examples demonstrating designed isolation of specific (n,m) structures to the level of single enantiomers will be presented, as well as the characterization enabling such experimental design.
