Stefan Wildt received a M.Sc. (Dipl. Ing.) in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Technology Berlin, Germany and, while working for the pharmaceutical company Hoffmann-LaRoche AG, Basel, a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Basel, Switzerland.
In 1998 he joined the Chemical Engineering Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral associate. In 2000 he was hired by GlycoFi, Inc. and joined the faculty of the Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College. He was heading the team responsible for developing fungal strains with humanized glycosylation. In 2006 GlycoFi was acquired by Merck, Inc. & Co. In 2008 Stefan joined Merck Bioventures, a new division aimed at developing follow-on biologics, as the basic research lead. He is involved in basic research and preclinical aspects of a variety of programs.
