2013 Awards Gala [Photos]

AIChE’s 2013 Awards Gala was held on Thursday, November 21, at The Plaza in New York City. This year’s gala centered on the theme, “Recognizing Excellence in Engineering Ethics.” AIChE honored David M. Cote, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell; David T. Seaton, Chairman and CEO of Fluor; and Stephen F. Angel, Chairman, President and CEO of Praxair. These companies have established strong reputations for ethical engineering and business practices, and their leaders exemplify a personal commitment to ethics and integrity. Raj Gupta, Senior Advisor to New Mountain Capital and Executive Chairman of Avantor Performance Materials, hosted the evening as gala chair.

This year’s gala will build awareness for the centrality and importance of ethics in engineering education and real-world practice. Funds raised will underwrite the continued expansion of ethics awareness and training in chemical engineering undergraduate education and life-long learning.

Honoring

David Cote

Chairman and CEO Honeywell

Dave Cote is chairman and CEO of Honeywell, a $38 billion diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; turbochargers; and performance materials.He was elected president, CEO, and a member of Honeywell's Board in February 2002, and named chairman of the Board.

Chairman and CEO Fluor Corporation

David Seaton is the chairman and chief executive officer of Fluor Corporation, one of the largest publicly held engineering and construction companies in the world. He was named Fluor's CEO and joined its board of directors in February of 2011. In February 2012, he was elected chairman of the board. David is a 28-year Fluor veteran.
