Spreadsheet Techniques and Problem-Solving for Chemical Engineers

AIChE Webinar
Originally delivered Oct 27, 2010

Many chemical engineers are self-taught in the use of spreadsheets for day-to-day problem-solving, which is testimony to the inherent usefulness of this tool. Although spreadsheet software was developed for financial calculations, engineers and scientists in all fields have found spreadsheets to be their tool of choice.

In this webinar, Dr. Clough focuses on two topics. First, he discusses and illustrates via live spreadsheet demonstrations sound techniques that chemical engineers should know in order to create well-designed spreadsheets in an efficient manner. In the second part of the webinar, he illustrates several common problem-solving scenarios that are representative of chemical engineering calculations. At the conclusion of the presentation and demonstrations, Dr. Clough entertains questions from the webinar attendees.
