Pneumatic conveying is routinely used to move solids of all sizes within process plants. On account of the compressibility of the conveying gas, the pneumatic conveying of solids is quite different from the pumping of liquids or slurries. This webinar explores the various flow modes for conveying of solids and how they are used to convey product with minimum power and product attrition. Key design concepts - such as conveying flow modes, factors influencing conveying pressure drop and saltation velocity are discussed in detail. The selection of many of the components that comprise a conveying system such as rotary valves, feed chutes, conveying pipe, and air movers is examined, especially as it relates to reliable operation of a conveying system.
Who will benefit? Production engineers, design engineers, plant managers and anybody required to interface with pneumatic conveying systems.
What will you learn? To understand the differences in systems; the key design and operational concepts that make these systems tick; and the equipment behind the operation of a conveying system.
