With heightened national interest in developing renewable energy sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, communities are again looking at waste-to-energy as a critical tool to manage their solid waste. However, the ability of waste-to-energy facilities to thrive will rely in large part on how legislators and regulators treat waste. In this session, we take an in-depth look at federal legislation and regulations currently under consideration, and examine what potential impacts they will have on waste-to-energy.
