Life Cycle Assessment is a tool used in the field of industrial ecology to evaluate the environmental impacts of products or processes over their entire life cycle – from raw material extraction, manufacturing, use, and end-of-life management.

This webinar outlines the need for environmental tools such as LCA, provides an overview of the LCA process, and shows how results are being used in industry to make informed decisions on strategic planning, marketing, priority setting, and product or process design or redesign.

Brian Hilton

Brian Hilton joined the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2003 as a senior research engineer. He has over 20 years of experience in sustainable product design and holds 29 U.S. patents.

In various positions within industry, he has designed and developed products from concept-inception through fully-automated production successfully launching many products. As a part of the university, he is currently developing and using tools, such as LCA, to assist companies in creating economically and environmentally sustainable product systems.
