Thomas Degnan
Bio
Thomas F. Degnan is the Manager, Breakthrough and Leads Generation for ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co. He received his PhD from the Univ. of Delaware and his BS from the Univ. of Notre Dame. He also holds an MBA from the Univ. of Minnesota. He has more than 34 years of industrial experience, first with 3M Co. in St. Paul, MN, and then with Mobil Technology Co., and finally ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co. He is the inventor or co-inventor on 100 U.S. patents and has authored or co-authored more than 30 journal articles, one book, and one monograph. Honors include AIChE’s Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Practice Award, the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Industrial Chemistry Award, and the ACS Heroes in Chemistry Award. Currently, he is chairman of the advisory committee of the Dept. of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Univ. of Delaware, and serves on advisory boards for the Univ. of Notre Dame, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Johns Hopkins Univ.
