Tarun Poddar

Tarun Poddar is currently working as an associate in microfiltration business for W.L. Gore and Associates Inc. in Elkton, Maryland. Tarun has close to 17 years of experience industry in two different countries and in four different organizations.  His experience ranges from plant design and operation in heavy and specialty chemical manufacturing to technology development, product development, application development, and commercialization of new technologies in filtration–separation areas. Tarun has several publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations in various international meetings. He also has a few patents in his name. Tarun is a member of AIChE since 1996 and actively involved with the organization.  He chaired and co-chaired numerous sessions in AIChE and NAMS meetings. Currently, Tarun is the vice chair of membrane-based separation, area 2D of separation division. He reviews publications for several international journals. He served as an industrial advisory board member for MAST center from 2006 to 2009.  Tarun holds a doctorate from New Jersey Institute of Technology, a master’s from Indian institute of Technology-Kanpur and a bachelor’s from Jadavpur University, all in chemical engineering.
