Rajesh Kumar Dasari
Rajesh (Raj) Dasari, Ph.D., a Sr. Process Engineer at Myriant Corp., is highly experienced in various Chemical Engineering traditional and advanced unit operations such as membrane filtration, resin based separation processes of ion exchange and chromatography, and crystallization. Dr. Dasari has been with Myriant for about 6 years working as part of the Research & Development team. He was the lead engineer to build Myriant’s biomass pretreatment lab and has expertise in the pretreatment of various types of lignocellulosic biomass. He was a key part of the team responsible for developmental and piloting stages of bio-succinic acid recovery and purification. Dr. Dasari is currently working on the development of other higher value biochemicals e.g. lactic acid and acrylic acid.
Dr. Dasari has received his Ph.D. from the University Of Louisville, KY in Chemical Engineering with the specialization on low cost sugars production from renewable lignocellulosic biomass, for which he was awarded the Graduate Dean’s Citation. Dr. Dasari has served as a Chair and Co-Chair in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) spring meetings. He is an acting Director of the Transport and Energy Processes (TEP) Division of AIChE. He has patents and publications in major journals with numerous citations in the bio-fuels and biochemicals area, and is an acting peer reviewer for Biochemical Engineering Journal and Biofpr Journal.
