Mr. Neil Gussman is the strategic communications and media relations manager for Chemical Heritage Foundation, a library and museum in Philadelphia. For the past eight years he has written the column “We’re History” on oddities in the history of chemistry for Chemical Engineering Progress magazine (American Institute of Chemical Engineers), and news articles for Chemical Heritage magazine. He also reviews books on the history of chemistry and chemical weapons for Books and Culture magazine. Neil returned to the Army National Guard after 23 years in 2007. He was stationed at Tallil Ali Air Base, Iraq as part of Task Force Diablo, Army Aviation Battalion. His tour of duty ended in January 2011. Mr.Gussman has a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities and a Master’s degree in American Studies. His master’s thesis was published as a book on the history of a Pennsylvania-based elder care corporation.
