Lori McDowell is currently Director of Business Development for Matheson, with responsibility for growing the refining, chemicals and energy sectors. Prior to working for Matheson, Lori was Business Development Manager and Pipeline Sales Manager at Praxair, with responsibility for the south region. Prior to joining Praxair she worked at WR Grace, first in catalyst evaluation research and development and later as a sales and technical service account manager in Refining Catalysts.
Lori received a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985, an MS in environmental engineering from CalTech in 1988 and a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware in 1992. Prior to attending graduate school, Lori worked for Roy F. Weston, Inc., as an environmental consultant.
Lori has been very active in a number of organizations. Lori currently serves on the Board of the National Business Development Association (NBDA). She is a past President of the Womens Energy Network (WEN)-Houston Chapter and served on their Board for 5 years. She also served as American Institute of Chemical Engineer’s (AIChE) Fuels & Petrochemicals Division Chair, along with a number of other leadership roles in AIChE over the past 20 years. Lori is currently the Houston Marketing Director for Women on Course.
Lori is married, with an 11 year old son and resides in Atascocita, TX.
