Career started over 25 years ago at the Savannah River Site to aid in the development of metal hydride technologies for the world’s largest metal hydride based tritium processing facility. Throughout his career, he has advanced tritium processing technologies for tritium hydride storage, hydride bed tritium inventory measurement techniques, tritium target extraction, and metal hydride tritium purification and recovery. He has also been instrumental in technology development for tritium separations, tritium stripping – including 3He recovery, process development for tritiated water processing. Recognized internationally for his expertise in tritium process technology development.
Has been a member of AIChE since his undergraduate studies at Iowa State University. Membership activities include being Local Section Vice-Chair in 1998 and Local Section Chair in 1999 for the Central Savannah River Section. Became a member of AIChE National Local Sections Committee in 2007 and has served various roles including Local Section Liaison, and Program Planning Grant Sub-Committee Chair. Based on attendance of the AIChE Leadership Development Conference in 1999 and 2000, information was supplied to the Local Section Committee to revitilize the renamed Local Section Leadership Workshop (LSLW).
