Dilip K. Das, P.E., is a Principal Engineer at Bayer CropScience’s Kansas City Plant. He is a specialist in DIERS (Design Institute for Emergency Relief Systems) technology with over 40 years of experience in process design and process safety. He is the current chair of SuperChems Technical Steering Committee (DIERS), co-author of three books on preparation for FE and PE in Chemical Engineering, a contributing author in Symposium on Runaway Reactions and the upcoming second edition of Guidelines for Pressure Relief and Effluent Handling Systems (DIERS), author of numerous technical articles, and a U.S. patent holder. He has double Honors in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering having placed first in both and earning gold medals for excellence in Chemical Engineering. He has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Washington and a certificate in Expert System from MIT. He is a PE in NY, NJ, LA, and MO.
