Dr. Dilek Alkaya is Senior Control Engineer at Tesoro’s Golden Eagle Refinery in Martinez CA where she participates in safe process improvement initiatives, process control implementations, and maintaining, monitoring advanced application, optimization tools since 2005.
She has started her career in academia, with emphasis on Process Modeling/Simulation, Control and Optimization. She enhanced her experience by working on industrial projects during her postdoctoral and visiting researcher positions at Carnegie Mellon University and University of Alberta. She joined industry, Air Products and Chemicals as Process Engineer, to focus more on the applied part of her field of expertise.
She has over 20 years of diverse experience in academic & industry and continuously gives back to community by active participation and leadership roles at Society of Women Engineers, providing Youth Leadership programs and serving as District 57 Mentoring Chair.
