David Eckhardt

Dave currently works as a Chemical Engineering Consultant with recurring assignments for both Irwin Engineers (Natick, MA) and CH2M Hill (Saint Louis, MO). During his 35+ year career he has had wide ranging assignments in Process Development, Process Design, and Plant Operations for CH2M Hill, Monsanto (Agricultural Chemicals), and Du Pont. During his work for Monsanto, he served on Teams that developed manufacturing processes for both Round Up herbicide and Bovine Somatatropin (rDNA). Dave is currently (2008-9) the Chair of the Admissions Committee, and has served on this Committee since 2004. Other AIChE Leadership positions have included Board of Directors (4 years, 1993-1996), Officer Saint Louis Section, including Chair (7 years), Officer Boston Section (1 year). Other AIChE contributions have included LDC (12 conferences), Student Regional Conference (Northeastern: 5 years; Mid –America 9 years), Program Planning Retreat (5 years). For his innovative contributions to the Institute, Dave has received 3 Leach Awards. Dave holds PE licenses in Illinois, Massachusetts, and Missouri.
