Section History

The Maryland Local Section is the sixth-oldest AIChE's oldest, formed in 1935.  Since its inception it has been comprised of degreed and/or practicing chemical engineers in eastern, central, and most of western Maryland, although meetings and events have often been attended from other nearby areas.  Especially in the recent past, our events have generally been located in the Baltimore area as this is the state's most populous area ... although attempts are being made to expand that geographic range to the rest of the section.
