Dr. Jeffrey Siirola
Jeffrey Siirola currently serves as Past-President of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Siirola joined Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tennessee in 1972 and is now a Technology Fellow responsible for an integrated process chemistry and conceptual process engineering laboratory in the Chemicals Research Division. His assignments have involved the development and application of process synthesis methods and tools for inventing better industrial chemical processes; computer-aided process design, simulation, optimization, and economic evaluation; resource conservation and recovery; and chemical technology assessment. Siirola received a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
