Mr. T. Bond Calloway, Jr.
T. BOND CALLOWAY, JR., is the alternative energy manager at Savannah River National Laboratory (Phone: (803) 507-5174; E-mail: bond.calloway@srnl.doe.gov), where he leads a team of scientists and engineers conducting basic and applied research related to hydrogen, fuel cells, and global climate change. He has more than 25 years of experience in the research and development, design, construction, and operation of DOE’s chemical process systems. His current research interests include analyzing the potential effect and implication of global climate change on national security. Mr. Calloway has previously been a National Science Foundation invited peer reviewer and has served as a proposal reviewer for the DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. He serves as chair of AIChE’s Research and New Technology Committee (RANTC) and as its Energy Steward, where he is responsible for analyzing energy-related research and championing new ideas on energy research. He also serves on AIChE’s Energy Advisory Board and Chemical Energy Technology Operating Council. Calloway received the Herb Epstein Award for meritorious contributions to AIChE and demonstrated dedication to the chemical engineering profession. He is the author of more than 40 papers on various aspects of nuclear waste and energy research. His research group has won two R&D 100 awards for advanced sensor technology. He holds a degree in chemical engineering from Auburn University.
